How our medications are made
Some of the medications Linnea offers are compounded — prepared for an individual prescription by a pharmacy, rather than manufactured at scale. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, and FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness, or quality. We say this plainly on every product page, next to every price, because it's the single most important thing to understand about this category of medicine.
A compounded medication is never a starting point at Linnea. It enters the picture only after a licensed provider has reviewed your health history and decided a program is appropriate — and it stays under that provider's ongoing care in your portal.
The pharmacies
What stands behind a compounded medication is the pharmacy that prepares it and the state that licenses that pharmacy. The pharmacies that fill Linnea prescriptions are state-licensed and operate under the pharmacy laws and inspection regimes of the states they serve. Your prescription is prepared for you, to your provider's exact order.
